About Recs
Recs is a small, independent project with one job: make it easier to do more in New York — starting with the city's ticket lotteries, which are wonderful, and wonderfully badly documented.
The method
Everything listed here is checked by hand against official sources — the lottery's own page, the organizer's own site, the network's own ticket desk. Every detail page shows when we last checked it. Where a rule can't be verified, we say so or leave it out: we would rather show a gap than guess. And a deadline gets the red treatment only when it is real, verified, and still actionable.
Three promises, permanent:
- We never enter anything for you. Entry always happens on the official site — Recs just makes sure you know when.
- We never invent a fact. No scraped guesses, no “probably,” no deadline we haven't verified.
- We never put your data in a link. Clicking out to an official page sends that site nothing about you.
What's next
Games and play, animals and pets, and the city after dark each need their own verification pass before they appear on Recs. We would rather leave them off than list them from memory — so they arrive when they are checked, and not before. The map is next after that: the same records, drawn where they are.
Independence
Recs is not affiliated with any show, venue, ticketing provider, network, or market it lists. If a “buy tickets” link ever earns a commission, it is labeled, it never changes what is listed or the order it appears in, and lottery-entry links are never monetized. Recommendations here can't be bought.
Corrections
Spotted something stale? Every detail page has a “Report outdated info” link, and reports land directly with us. This is a hand-checked service — readers who correct it make it better for everyone.
